At the October meeting the Board adopted the 2025 Regional Energy Strategy which has been produced by our former Energy and Sustainability Project Manager Narelle Martin.
This strategy documents the achievements to date of the member councils and the benefits readily available and achieved by working together and with the NSW State Government team in Sustainable Councils. It was created with the purpose of assisting Councils, communities and businesses within RAMJO to:
- Understand the changes in the energy landscape
- Take advantage wherever possible of those changes
- Become more self-sufficient and resilient around energy
- Identify ways to reduce costs related to energy, and
- In the process, reduce emissions which contribute to climate change and have adversely affected the region
