Regional Industry and Investment Attraction
RAMJO aim to attract and support sustainable industry and investment across the RAMJO region by strengthening local precincts, promoting regional innovation, and growing the visitor economy as a key driver of economic diversification.
In order to achieve this RAMJO seeks to:
Activate Regional Precincts and Innovation Hubs
- Support member councils to develop and promote industry precincts aligned with local strengths (e.g. agrifood, health, logistics, clean tech).
- Assist with business case development and cross-sector engagement to unlock investment and funding
- Advocate for enabling infrastructure to support growth in priority precincts
Promote Regional Branding and Investment Partnerships
- Advocate for flexible and regionally responsive use of the DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement) to address workforce shortages
- Promote regional settlement programs that support skilled migrants and their families, including language and housing
supports - Position the RAMJO region competitively within state and federal regional development frameworks
Strengthen the Visitor Economy as a Growth Sector
- Advocate for improved tourism infrastructure, signage, and digital visitor information across key destinations
- Support regional event development and marketing that showcase local culture, natural assets, and heritage
- Collaborate with Destination NSW, tourism operators, and councils to develop a coordinated visitor economy strategy
