Disaster Risk Reduction Fund

The Disaster Risk Reduction Fund Project is ‘building knowledge and improving practice in disaster risk reduction in the Riverina and Murray Joint Organisation footprint’. The project comprises four components to improve corporate and community risk preparedness, including:

1) Local and Regional Needs Analysis and Opportunities Reports;

2) Community Workshops to help communities prepare for, understand and take action to reduce multi-hazard disaster risks;

3) A Transport Vulnerability Assessment that assesses the risks to the region’s transport networks from natural disasters and develops priorities for future investment; and,

4) Workshops and tools to embed project learnings into Councils’ Integrated Planning and Reporting documents.

The project is also working to build capacity, share resources and develop leading practice in Disaster Risk Reduction across Joint Organisations in NSW, as well as more systematic collaboration with key State agencies.

If you would like further information about the project components or how you can be involved, please contact the Project Manager – Emily Sharp: emily.sharp@ramjo.nsw.gov.au

The Disaster Risk Reduction Fund (DRRF) is jointly funded by the Australian and New South Wales governments.
